FAQ

How far in advance do we need to book our session?

WEDDINGS: Between booking time off for family camping and wedding season, my summer gets booked up quickly, so the sooner the better! I begin booking 1 year in advance (ex. if you want to book me for a 2025 wedding, you can book me as early as January 1, 2024).

For all other sessions, sessions are usually booked 1-6 months in advance.

what kind of gear do you use?

I'm a Sony shooter and always photograph with 2 full-frame camera bodies. My camera bodies have 2 memory card slots, so I protect your images throughout your session by having a back-up copy of every single photo I take on the 2nd memory card. Once our session is finished, your photos also get uploaded to my computer, an external hard drive, and get backed up in the cloud as well.

do you have a second shooter?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no, it all depends on your wedding package! I shoot solo about 50% of the time and am completely comfortable working on my own, but I also love having a second shooter as well. It all depends on what YOU want as part of your photo package! When I do have a second shooter, they are all experienced and licensed professional photographers.

how long until we receive our photos?

For weddings, my turnaround time is 1 month.
For lifestyle sessions it's 3 weeks, and for maternity + newborn sessions, I rush edit and my turnaround time is 1 week (because things change so quickly!)

How many photos will we receive?

The number of photos depends on many things - the number of hours of coverage I'm booked for, the number of guests, types of events, hours of dancing, etc. On average for a wedding day, you can expect around 100 images/hour, but that number realy varies depending on your day - what is scheduled in, travel time between locations, etc. What I do guarantee is that I won't miss any of your special moments and will document your day fully for the time that I am booked for!

When should i book my maternity/newborn session?

MATERNITY: For most women, the ideal timeframe for maternity photos is around 7-8 months. In the third trimester, your belly will be big and beautiful, but (hopefully!) not so big that it’s difficult for you to move around, change positions, and pose for the camera. But every woman and every pregnancy is different, so whenever is right for you is perfect!

NEWBORN: These sessions are generally taken around the 2-4 week mark so that we can capture baby while baby is still itty bitty and sleeping most the day!

Do you have insurance?

Yes, absolutely! I have a business license, insurance, and am also fully covered (by permits + insurance) to photograph legally in the Canadian Rockies.
